Laurieston has been a housing Co-op since 1972. The Hall has many rooms and extensive grounds with vegetables, cows, sheep, hens, pigs, bees and forest.

Six days and nights with one of Laurieston's most playful groups. Jim and Anna are patient teachers able to focus all levels of circus skills into performance routines. Both are qualified yoga teachers - daily sessions will help you stretch and relax.

After dusk you'll delight at the magic of black light in a fluorescent room with props that glow-in-the-dark. Take part in, or just watch, a large-scale fire extravaganza with the ceremonious lighting of fire sculptures. Enjoy the party atmosphere!

A relaxed, flexible schedule coupled with a spirit of fun allows participants to offer activities. This has included clowning, trapeze, massage, tightrope, Qi Gong, story telling, mask making, drumming, singing, DJ mixing, forest walks, diabolo, circle dancing, camp fires and boating.

Jim and Anna are acknowledged experts in performing with fire and UV, Britain's only company leading such residentials. They teach and perform juggling internationally. Anna has written a
book on club and pole swinging. Jim has produced & directed numerous fire shows.

Our surroundings are of rolling countryside, forest and farmland, dotted with lochs. There are high hills a few miles to the north, and to the south is a shoreline of sand, rocks, cliffs and caves. Those seeking solitude or wildness can find it a few yards from the Hall and for miles in all directions. We have 135 acres including a Victorian walled kitchen garden.

Sleeping accommodation: Mostly in shared, woodstove-heated rooms for 5-8 people. You are welcome to bring a tent or camper for privacy or borrow a tent. There are some double and smaller rooms. (Please book early) There's a table-tennis table, a snooker table, an outdoor volley-ball court, a wood-fired sauna, and the loch with our own beach to swim from. Laurieston village has a pub but no shop, the nearest being a very small one four miles up the road. Our nearest town is 7 miles away (Castle Douglas).

Small camping discount available (contact us about this) Reductions for children are (babies up to 1 year free, 1/4 of the parental rate for 1-4 year olds, 1/2 for 5-11 year olds and 3/4 for 12-16 year olds).
"High Waged" are generally those earning 20K+ but the rate is self-selected.
